Emotionally Focused Therapy (EFT) is a therapeutic technique based on having fulfilling relationships that support the physical and mental wellbeing of the individuals.
This begins by identifying negative cyclical behaviors before replacing them with positive ones. Change is developed when the couple’s interactions are organized, thus achieving repeated positive cycles in the relationship. These positive cycles include aiding the couple with learning the individual’s needs and supports with creating connections that allow the relationship to develop into a safe and nurturing place.
EFT is a model that can be used with couples from different cultures and backgrounds.
